SCC Planned Roadworks on C182

Somerset County Council have upcoming planned roadworks to maintain and improve the C182.

The works are planned to start on 30 September and due to take 6 weeks to complete. To reduce disruption, the works will be carried out on weekday nights. The permanent work will provide a widened tarmac verge edge beyond the white line in isolated areas between Combwich and Hinkley Point C site. The white edge line will also be upgraded to a rib line for the full extent of the work for both sides of the road.

In summary:

– There will be two-way traffic during daytime working hours

– There will be traffic lights in operation for weekday night time works

– There will be two-way traffic for areas that have been prepared ready for works, however the road edge will be coned and a temporary 30mph speed restriction will be in place during daytime hours

If you have any questions regarding the works, please get in touch with Somerset County Council through Somerset Direct by phoning: 0300 123 2224 or emailing the area highways office at: countyroads-sedgemoor@somerset.gov.uk.
